Four Years

Four years. In some ways it seems like a lifetime ago that Georgia had her bone marrow transplant. It was such an awful and scary time.  Today Georgia came over to play, we celebrated four years post transplant with some treats and lots off goofing around. These kids know all about the Russell Wison Strong Against Cancer campaign, so we decided this was a good way to mark the day.

New Do

Lauren decided to hack her beautiful hair last week.  I gasped when I saw a large, long chunk on the stairs and I found her behind a plant, trimming away.  I took her to get it cleaned up the following day.  To really even it up she would have had to cut it up to her chin.  I left the decision up to her and she opted for the slightly longer version (that still has a chunk missing from the back left side).  She cried a little the first night saying "I want to my hair to be bigger", but overall she's pretty happy with her new do.

Montana 2014

The day after Christmas we headed to Montana for some skiing and fun in the snow.  It was the coldest weather we've ever had, but we still managed to get in some good ski days. Blake was such a trooper, he skied in 3 degree weather and was perfectly happy about it.  We bundled him up with hand, foot and body warmers and he wore my ski vest. MY ski vest! Blake, I can not believe how fast you've grown this year, only another year or so until I can start stealing your sweatshirts :) We took the kids bowling, hot tubbing and sledding to keep busy when it was too cold to ski and of course there was lots of crazy cousin time too.  It's so fun to see how much Blake loves skiing and to have "little" Leo around with all of his toddler words, but seeing Lauren and Georgia play together for days on end is the best.

Stories with Leo, this little guy LOVES his Uncle.

The first day out these girls got right back on the chairlift.

On the day it was too cold to ski, Blake "surfed" the snow in the yard on a sled. I guess snowboarding may be in our future.

our skiers turned in to bowlers when it was 7 below

Blake after he returned from his day of skiing in the arctic!

We tried to get some family photos one afternoon.  I don't think my camera likes the cold, I got a lot of weird, blurry pictures.  Here's the best of what I had:

Christmas 2014

Grandma and Grandad came for Christmas this year, it was perfect.  We all enjoyed our time together, it was a little more low key than years past and it was just what I needed.
