Pee Wee Picasso

This morning when Blake woke up I told him we were starting our art class today. Evidently he wanted to start practicing right away...Applesauce art that Blake was very proud of...

In class, Blake was the youngest and the only boy. The ladies weren't as messy and I didn't see any of them trying to eat the paint like Blake was, but I am sure we had more fun!

Blake's first art projects! The globs of paint are still drying :)

Portland

Blake and I made a quick trip to Portland to visit some friends and Grandma Jean. Blake was a great traveler, on the way home today he slept from Portland to Tacoma and then sang from Tacoma home :)

We visited Jenny and Lucia and Blake got to have his first tea party :)

We stayed with Grandma Jean while Grandad is away on business in New Zealand. Grandma and Grandad have the house stocked with lots of fun toys. Blake got to play with balls, a "chainsaw", rubber snakes, etc. He had lots of fun.

He's a Pittman! All of the Pittman's love boating and fishing. Blake hopped up in a chair, grabbed a boating magazine and started jabbering about all of the boats (I am guessing that's what he was talking about :)

Little Graduate

Blake graduated from his class at the Little Gym on Tuesday. This is the second class he has completed, he was a "bug" then a "bird" next week he'll be a little "beast"!

Blake under the parachute.

Here he is trying out the bars. I didn't get a picture of it, but he learned to hang from the bars by himself.

Ta da! Blake after doing some tumbling.

Each of the kids got to go in front of the class and Sandy, our teacher, would say a little something about each child and they all got ribbons. Blake was so impressed with his ribbon he turned around and gave it to a little girl in our class :)

Dental Hygiene

Blake has always loved to brush his teeth, lately he's thinks it takes two brushes to get the job done. He also loves to "floss" - he takes a piece of floss, sucks the mint flavor off and says "mmmmmm"!

Funnies

This morning Chad and Blake read the paper while I made some breakfast. Blake got a kick out of the comics :)

Quick Visit

Grandma and Grandad made their annual trip to Seattle for the boat show. It was a quick trip but Blake got lots of playtime with them.

PEPS Playdate

On Friday almost all of our PEPS group from Ballard made the trek to Bellevue for a playdate. It was so fun to have all our friends visit us over here. It's been amaznig to watch these little ones grow and change over the last year and a half!

Waiting for his buddies to arrive.

We had snacks.

For some reason our stairs were a big hit.

Playing in the teepee.

Beautiful January Day

We started our Sunday with a walk and then had some huckleberry waffles. Blake loves huckleberries, but I think he loves the mess they make even more. Then we headed outside to do a little yard work. Well, really Blake and Lou played around in the yard, I put Blake down for a nap, and Chad did the yard work :)

On the way to visit Grandpa and Grandma we stopped by the park.

Grandpa's knee was more fun than any of the stuff at the park. Plus you get a jelly belly or two from Grandpa :)

It was so nice to see the sun and have a little reminder of why we live in the Northwest!

Sour!

I was cutting a piece of lemon to put in my water the other day and Blake clearly wanted to try some of the lemon. (Anything I touch is interesting these days.) So I grabbed the camera and let him try a piece.

"Hey everybody, I'm going to try a lemon!"

I don't think he liked it.

"Not very funny Mom."

New Camera!

Chad got me a fancy new camera for Christmas (thank you!!). It just arrived yesterday so I am posting my first few pictures. I haven't cracked open the manual yet, I can see that I have a lot to learn, but I am excited to be able to capture my fast moving son on film :)

One of Blake's favorite words is "hat". Anything he puts on his head is a hat, including this little bowl of pasta.

What you don't see in this picture is Blake standing on his little car, something he knows he isn't supposed to do (which explains the big cheesy smile). For those of you who've spent time with us lately know I spend half my day saying "feet on the floor please".

Louis is clearly not impressed with my new camera...

Making good on our New Year's Resolution

Chad and I decided for our New Year's resolution we would use our treadmill more often. Blake decided to get in on the action too. January 5th and we're all working out :)

Big shoes to fill

Blake is really into wearing other people's shoes lately. Chad never wears this pair, but they are one of Blake's favorites!
