Playdate #2

Sabrina, Maddie and her little brother Otis came over for a playdate this past week. Sabrina and I don't get to see each other often enough, so while we were busy catching up downstairs, the kids were busy with "stickers" upstairs (they are post it stickers Chad was using on some files he'd been working on). Now it's hard to leave our house with one or two stickers attached to you.

This past Tuesday we had Blaine and Erin over for a great playdate! We played in the sun all afternoon. The boys decided swimsuits were too much effort....and peeing in the bushes may have been the highlight :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Chad! You are such an amazing Dad. Blake admires you and wants to be just like Daddy. And little Lauren seems to be a Daddy's girl already, she smiles every time she sees you or hears your voice.

You are a wonderful husband too. I love watching you do the "potty dance" so enthusiastically with Blake or seeing our baby girl asleep in your arms.

For Father's Day I thought I'd make Chad a nice dinner after the kids went to bed. I bought steak and crab legs. Just as Chad put the steaks on the grill I heard Blake crying. I ran upstairs and found that he had barfed everywhere (for the first time in his life). I told Chad to go ahead and eat with out me, it would be awhile. After getting Blake a bath and the bedding changed, I headed downstairs to join my husband for our nice dinner. I asked why he didn't start with out me...the grill had run out of gas. We finished our steaks in the oven and poured ourselves some wine (Maker's Mark for Chad :) and laughed. Oh well - next year we'll go out!

We hosted another get together this weekend, a joint Father's Day/Grandpa's birthday celebration. We all had a good time celebrating Dads!

Blake's creation on Sunday was quite unique. This is what he decided to put on to take a walk around the neighborhood. Nice!

Laurel's Birthday

Saturday afternoon we all attended Laurel's third birthday party! Blake is really into picking out his own clothing, which is fine with me most of the time. I really like to get him a little dressed up for birthday parties, but I lost that battle this weekend.

Lil Kickers

Blake started Lil Kickers on Friday. Chad took some time off to come with us! Soccer isn't my most favorite sport...but so far Blake seems to like it a lot.

Little Gym

After a busy weekend, I was pretty sore on Monday so Daddy took Blake to his last class at Little Gym. Blake was excited to have his Dad with him there.

Cousins

Day at the Beach

Since we finally got some sun this weekend we headed to Meydenbauer beach Saturday morning with the Obersts. Blake and Blaine had lots of fun in the sand. Blake helping Lauren with her lunch.

Four Weeks Old Today!

It's really hard to believe Lauren has been in our lives for four weeks already! So far we know she likes to be held, she loves it when her Daddy pats her back and she doesn't complain when her big brother smothers her with love (Mommy has to keep a close eye on that part...).

This is her new talent! Blake wanted nothing to do with a pacifier, which I was fine with. But after it took him 18 months to consistently sleep through the night, I thought I'd try something new this time around!

Happy Birthday Grammy!

Tonight we celebrated Grammy's birthday. Everyone came to our house...and they brought the party with them! My Dad cooked everything and everyone cleaned up before they left, it's a nice way to host a party! Blake helped Grammy blow out her candles...and he opened all her presents for her :)

My Family

We had some interesting evenings this past week. Some nights Chad and I would just look at each other and laugh - both kids were screaming and we really didn't know what else to do. I'm so happy to be on this journey with Chad, he helps me to not take things too seriously. Here are some pictures from one of our more successful evenings this past week :)" Who's taller Mom?"
