Acrobat

Blake has spent the majority of the summer on his head. Naked and on his head. Today he was doing headstands in the hallway, but I had him put on some undies so I could capture the moment :)

Swing

I was in the kitchen when I looked over and saw Blake swinging Lauren in her swing. The swing was on, so she really didn't need his help. However, she seemed to have a lot more fun with her brother pushing her.

Sweet Baby Girl

They neighbor boys were shooting off fireworks this afternoon (like any good 13 year old boys should when they are bored on a Sunday afternoon) which woke Lauren up from her nap. I put her back down to nap in her little chair in our bathroom, far away from the front of our house. She looked so sweet I had to get a picture.

Good Bye Blaine

We had the Obersts over one last time before they move to Portland. Blake and Blaine are good buddies and we are going to miss having them in Seattle. Chad and Jeff have been best friends since their college days and it has been so fun for them to have boys that are such good buddies too. We've gone from nursing and teething to wrestling matches and slip n slides over the last few years together.

Baby in a Bumbo

We put Lauren in our bumbo baby chair. She wasn't too sure about it at first, but now she really seems to like it. She sat with Blake and I this morning while we played Candyland. She can sit and watch anything Blake does for hours (or at least quite a few minutes).
These pictures are from the other day when it was so hot. I had her in only a diaper and a bib, can you see those rolls?!?

Oh, the funny things you say!

Blake has really come into his own lately. Not only is his vocabulary growing by the minute, it is so fun to hear what is going on in that brilliant mind of his.

Some of my favorites from his left over "toddler speak" include: sunscream, lellow and sk-prize!
Some of the funnier things we've heard out of our little man's mouth lately:
-"Mom, you need more wine"
-"That is not a good idea" or "those are not my options" or "that is not the plan"
- "Mom, your buns are smaller than mine" (I love you Blake :)
-"I helped Daddy barf the yard"
As I have mentioned before, Blake is really into who is related to who in our family and how we all fit together. While standing in the line in the grocery store Blake asked rather loudly "Where is Lauren's dad?" (as if my children were from multiple dads...) Another time in the grocery line Blake pointed to the twentysomething construction guy behind us and said "he's not my dad". You should have seen the look on the guy's face :)
But the best so far was "I slept with your husband last night". Um, what? Chad got up with Blake in the middle of the night and snuggled him back to sleep. He ended up falling back to sleep in Blake's bed too. Chad got up and went to work the next morning and when Blake woke up he let me know he'd "slept with my husband". Even from a three year old, those are strange words to hear!

Brother & Sister

It just so happens that Blake's first trip to Whitefish was when he was just three months old, the same as Lauren on her first trip there . Here is a picture of Blake and Lauren at three months in the same car seat sitting on the same chair. They look like siblings to me :)

Whitefish, Montana 2010

Crazy as it sounds, we decided to pack up our 3 year old and our 3 month old and take a road trip to Whitefish. We stopped in Coeur d'Alene for a night to break up the trip and have some fun at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. I was actually amazed, Lauren slept most of the way and Blake listened to his new CD player, watched some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and napped a little too. I swear we had to make more potty stops for the grown ups than for Blake!
We had a really great trip. Sleeping Beauty and I slept in until at least 8:30 every morning, Chad and I got to go golfing and out to dinner by ourselves, there were boat rides, hiking, bike riding, great food and wine, and much more.

Idaho:

We had a view of the floating tee from our breakfast table.

Lauren seemed to enjoy her time in our cabana.

Throwing rocks at the beach.
Montana:
"Fishing" on Whitefish Lake. We tried twice to go for a nice boat ride and got rained out both times.

We had lunch at the Lodge just hours before one of our boating adventures, looks like a nice enough day for boating...

Here we are drying out at a friends condo after our boating adventure. We got soaked! Luckily both kids slept through it all :)

Some wildlife in front of my parent's home.

Glacier Park:
Lauren and I taking in the view at Lake McDonald.

Every hiker needs a camelback backpack!

more fishing

Grammy and her Budlight at Lake McDonald (it was actually my Budlight, she was holding it for me :)

Grammy made us an amazing picnic, complete with a white table cloth and pretty dishes. The Warning's know how to picnic in style!

Alpine Adventure: We took Blake up to the ski mountain so he could go on the Alpine Slides. You ride the chairlift up and slide down. I wasn't sure how he'd like it...but eight rides later I think he was into it! He would start yelling "yahoo" the second we left the starting gates.

Three Months Old Today!

This morning we tried to get a good picture of Lauren because she is officially three months old, but she just wanted to show off her rolls! Here she is lounging on the deck (in Whitefish, MT).
Lauren is the sweetest little girl, she is happy most all of the time, she is a great eater and sleeper too! She is growing like crazy, she'll be out of her 3-6 month clothes in no time. This past month she rolled over from her front to her back and she has started mimicking us a little bit too. My favorite thing over the last month is watching Lauren's face light up when she sees/hears Blake, it is so sweet.

Body Paint

Today Blake wanted to do some art work in the backyard while Lauren was napping. I've been trying to finish a book for quite some time now, so I have to admit I wasn't fully paying attention to what started out as finger painting.
Blake looks like he's ready to join the boys in 'Lord of the Flies'.
