Golden Gardens

Sunday afternoon we headed to Golden Gardens for a little beach time in our old neighborhood. Chad and Blake played a little football and Blake managed to get covered in sand :) "Go long Daddy!"
Ready to catch the ball...
uh oh....this is looking more like his Mother's athletic talent, you know, close your eyes and hope for the best. I'm hoping he takes after his Daddy in that department :)

Cougar Basketball...or should I say Husky Basketball

Saturday night Blake stayed up late and watched part of the WSU vs. UW basketball game with us...the kid loves basketball. At one point I said "go Cougs" and Blake pointed his finger at me and said "go Huskies". A second later the Cougs missed their shot and Blake turned to me and said "they missed it". I didn't know a two and a half year old could be so dedicated to his team.

Blue or Pink?

I have a couple of friends who are convinced I am having a girl, so much so I have even received a couple of little girl gifts! My guess is still for a boy, but we'll see. I'm THRILLED to say I passed my glucose test on Monday. I flunked the test when I was pregnant with Blake, and I guess once you have flunked, the chances are pretty good you won't pass again. So I cut out sugar for a week or so (for the most part) and my doctor had me fast prior to the test. So with that behind me the count down is on! Okay, it's still a ways off, but I'm counting :)
Smarty pants here thinks it's really funny to stretch out my sweet little pink cap! (payback is your mom posts pictures of you in the pink hat :)

Happy 90th Birthday Grandpa Les!

This past weekend Chad, Blake and I headed to Roseburg, OR for Blake's Great Grandpa's 90th birthday celebration. Chad's Grandparents were a huge part of his childhood. I feel so lucky that they are a part of Blake's life too!
Blake had a great time with all of the cousins. He is still talking about the ho-towel (hotel) we stayed at with the blue water (pool). Thank you dear husband for staying in the pool with him and all of the other kids for an hour and a half...this pregnant mama is all done with pools for the time being! Here are a few pictures from our weekend with the whole family. The only picture I could get of some of the kids sitting still.

Blowing out the candles (I don't there there were quite 90)
Blake loved playing with his second cousin, Aleah. She is the most darling 4th grader and was very sweet with Blake!

I love trucks!

The other week Chad had to get an oil change at the Chevy dealer and he came home with a brochure for new trucks. Blake has asked me to read the "truck magazine" every night as his bedtime story. Last night I went to check on him and this is what I found:
This morning Blake woke up in time to see Chad before he left for work. Chad doesn't typically wear a suit and tie to work, but he had a big meeting today so he was all dressed up. Blake was impressed! After Chad left he put on a tie too and kept saying "I look fancy".

Happy Valentine's Day

We've done some fun Valentine's activities this week, we made Valentine's cards and cookies and today we went to brunch with Blake's friends Laurel, Blaine and Lilah at the Evatt's house. Blake was so excited to start making "Valentimes" that he wouldn't take his coat off.

This was the Valentine he made for his Daddy.

Later in the week we made cookies...or we ate decorations might be a bit more accurate.

Good stuff

After Blake was done sampling everything I put the cookies in a tupperware container. Blake wanted to know if we could leave his for Santa. He seriously doesn't want to let go of Christmas...

Our masterpieces

Laurel eating her cupcake.

Lilah, Blaine and Laurel at the kids table...Blake found Laurel's toys so much fun he didn't want to eat anything, not even treats! Then we walked over to Laurelhurst Elementary to play at the playground. However the kids thought it would be WAY more fun to splash in all of the puddles.
Blake was so soaked by the end of this adventure that he is now napping in Laurel's leggings and socks (at least the leggings are brown :)

Deception Pass

With Chad in the heat of busy season, we try and do some little adventure as a family each weekend. This past weekend we went up to Deception Pass. It was a pretty gray morning, but we had fun none the less. I would like to return on a warm, sunny day! What would a day at the beach be without throwing some rocks?

Chad and Blake did a little rock climbing, I stayed on the beach and took pictures :)

Blake and Mom

Happy to be at the beach!

Blake and Daddy found some walking sticks, a highlight for Blake.Kisses!

These days Blake wants to be JUST like Daddy.

Quiet Time Creativity

I heard Blake making a ruckus (again) during his quiet time and I went in to see what was going on this time. This is what I found:
Not only had he decorated his dresser with hangers, he changed out of his sweats into pajama bottoms.

Whitefish 2010

Blake and I went to visit Grammy and Grandpa this past week (Chad had to stay home and bring home the bacon) . We had a great time! Blake was thrilled to go on an airplane, he even turned down a hot cocoa to wait in line to get on the plane. Once we were on the plane we had to wait a few minutes until it was our turn to take off. The plane was completely silent when Blake started singing "Frosty the Snowman" rather loudly. Then we took off, Blake saw the wheels retract..."is the plane broken"? Then the plane tilted a little to one side as we were going up in the air..."we're going down". He was not at all concerned, but I did think of my dear friend Kristy who is terrified to fly - I hope nobody around us had flying issues! When we landed in Montana, Blake was thrilled to see Grammy, it's the only time he let go of his Elmo "zuitcase". We took Blake skiing (when we returned to Seattle Blake bragged to Daddy, "I go skiing, I go fast"), out to dinner, to the athletic club for some swimming. He got to have lots of treats, love and attention which he ate up. Waiting for our airplane.
Grandpa and Blake on the "treadmill". The "treadmill" in Whitefish is probably 4 or 5 times longer than the one at Snoqualmie. Blake didn't bat an eyelash, he jumped right on and was ready to go.

Grammy and Grandpa helping Blake ski down the hill. He isn't strong enough to stop yet, so they were catching him on his way down.

He took a couple of spills, which he seem to think were pretty funny.

In the lodge after skiing. We kept asking Blake if he was tired or hungry, but he would say he wanted to keep skiing. Finally, we decided to just take him in for lunch where he ate four pieces of pizza!
