Baby bedhead part 2

I'm not sure what happens during Lauren's afternoon naps. She wakes up looking pretty normal after her morning nap.

An Evening for Georgia

When my friends Sarah and Jayme came to me with the idea of putting together an auction to benefit the Handsakers I was floored. So many people have wanted to help, but no one really knew what to do. Here is the invitation to "An Evening for Georgia" (thank you Joci!), if you are interested in attending you can visit the link below, space is limited.

A HUGE thank you to Sarah, Jayme and Tirza, you guys are amazing. Thank you for all of your hard work and support for the Handsakers. It has been a great reminder of what a caring community we live in, so many people have stepped up to help.

Friday, March 25th 7:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Portland

Blake, Lauren and I packed up Monday morning and headed to Portland for a quick visit. We packed a lot in and had a good visit with Grandma.

Blake doing a little fishing.

Snuggles with Grandma

Vampire...no longer! On the drive home from Portland, through a blizzard, Lauren decided to scream until her front tooth popped through (not that I can blame her....the timing was just a little rough).

Together Again

Last weekend the Obersts came up for a visit. We had the Evatts over for dinner too, it was so fun to have the old gang back together again. Laurel, Blaine and Blake had so much fun running around together. Just as the kids have come to the age where they can entertain each other...we have round two to keep us busy!

Vivienne, Laurel's new baby sister.

The Evatts brought chocolate peanut butter ice cream cake....

....which was enjoyed by all.

Such a dirty face, Patrick & Jeff had to help him out!

My Little Vampire

Lauren is so hip! With the success of the Twilight series, True Blood, etc. she thought she'd join the vampire craze :)

Baby Bedhead

Lauren has been taking some long naps lately, which result in the most amazing hairdos!

Happy Valentine's Day

Chad, Blake and I had a romantic dinner for three, complete with crab cakes from our favorite fish market in Ballard. For dessert we made chocolate fondue which Blake was excited about all day.

My Little Peanut

Lauren had her nine month check up today. She is 27.5 inches long (50%) and 16.6 lbs (15%). I was a little worried about Lauren's weight. At four months she was in the 80th percentile and now the 15th?!? Our pediatrician said it's nothing to worry about but we have to go back in a month for a weight check. If you look at my little one's thighs (or ham hocks as her daddy calls them) I'm pretty sure she's going to be just fine :) But, I don't think we're going to be turning her car seat around on her 1st birthday- bummer!

Rattlesnake Lake

It's busy season again, which means Chad works six days a week. Every year during busy season we try and do something fun as a family on Chad's day off. This week we went up to Rattlesnake Lake and hiked around a little.

Out of the mouthes of babes...

So Blake is pretty funny these days. One of the things I liked about the name Lauren is you can't really "cutesy" it up....or can you? Blake now calls Lauren Lauren-y, which sounds more like Lorny. Not exactly catchy, but I'm pretty sure I called her that the other day too. Blake loves is little sister, the other morning he said "is our little pumpkin awake yet?". Or when Lauren had something she wasn't supposed to have Blake told her "no way little jose".

The other day Blake completely ruined the headphones that go with his CD player. He took them apart piece by piece. I was really irritated and I told him they were broken so he could no longer use them. "That's okay mom, the man in the brown truck will bring me a new pair". Ah yes, UPS is the answer to everything!

Lastly, Blake brought home his "news" from school today. His news was "Daddy goes to work and mommy stays home and makes phone calls". BUSTED :)

Nine Months Old Today

How could it be? Time is really flying by and Lauren manages to conquer some new skill almost daily. She has reached that age where she does NOT like it if I am out of sight. This stage has its challenges, but I'm glad to know she loves me :) I came home from a meeting the other evening and when she saw me she got a huge smile on her face and crawled as fast as she could to me. The real star in Lauren's life is Blake. She will follow him anywhere, including up our 17 stairs. Lauren has a little flair for the dramatic too. I've always heard girls were more dramatic than boys, but to see it in person is something else. When I go to change her diaper she screams as if I had just lopped off her arm. When Blake takes a toy away from her she lays face first on the floor and just cries. It's actually pretty funny.
Happy nine months baby girl, you are my dream come true.

Partners in Crime

These two have become quite the little buddies lately. Sure, Blake took everything out of the toy cupboard, but Lauren laughed and clapped the whole time.

Spring Training

Lauren

A few more pics, as requested by Auntie. We took these while Blake was at school today. I think Lauren was happy to have all of the toys to herself for a little bit!

LOTS of drool these days, two teeth just popped through and I think there are two more on their way. Good times.

Day at the Park

We can't see the Handsakers and they can't see us. Grammy and Grandpa get to see Georgia, so they can't see us either. The whole thing is pretty crummy, but we'll be together again someday soon. Until then, it has been suggested I post more pictures of my rapidly growing children. Here you go Auntie :) Waiting for someone to take her out in the sun!

Sunny Afternoon

Blake and I discovered if we put the excersauser (which Lauren hated inside) in the driveway she'll watch us play baseball, soccer, basketball and today, golf! I'm not sure who she's cheering for (Blake I'm sure) but she seems pretty happy.
(we're going to have to work on his technique...)

She's Getting Closer...
