Weekend with Grandma

My best friend Kristy got married on Saturday! Grandma Jean came up from Portland on Thursday to take care of Blake while I tended to Kristy and last minutes wedding details...manicures, pedicures, hair dos, it's been a tough couple days :) Jean took great care of Blake, here are some pictures of their time together.

Blake likes to put his hat on himself - almost straight!

Alison, Kristy and I were all in each other's weddings, it's been a lot of fun!
Everyone had a great time, especially Chad :)

Dishes

Blake, I wanted to post a few of these pictures so some day when you have chores, you will know how much you love doing dishes! :)

Memorial Day BBQ

We headed to the Malik's house for a bbq on Monday. It was great to get everyone together! Here are some of the moms and kids. (I think the guys were tending to the bbq?)

Kiddie Pool

Chad bought Blake a pool for the backyard this past weekend. Blake loves sitting in it and golfing in it as well. Some how he made it in the pool before I could get his suit on him.

Golf ball stand off...

A little backyard golfing in the buff :)

Overnight with Auntie

Alison was kind enough to take Blake for an overnight on Saturday night. Chad and I had a really fun night out on the town. Here are a few pictures from Blake's time with Alison.

Alison took Blake for an evening stroll at Lincoln Park too!

The Locks

Friday evening we headed over to our old neighborhood to check out the locks and go to dinner at one of our favorite spots. We had a lot of fun at the locks, Blake would point out the yachts and say "row boat".

School's out for Summer!

Today was our last day at our BCC playgroup. I had to wake Blake up to go - the cardinal sin of motherhood. He screamed the whole way there and took a good half hour to warm up to the crowd, but in the end he had a good time. We met some really fun friends this year, many who live really close to us which will be fun this summer. Some of the kids chasing after Kara.
See, he finally cracked a smile :)

Blake's got your tongue...

Okay, just one more posting with Louis! This morning after our walk Louis was exhausted, as usual. When I looked over to see what Blake was up to, he was mimicking Lou. He was pretty fascinated with Lou's panting and his long doggie tongue!

Morning Chores

Blake has been feeding Lou is breakfast everyday for probably about two months now. I finally got around to getting it on film!

Blaine's First Birthday

Today we went to Blaine's first birthday party. We had a great time, and it was a perfect day for the backyard party. As it turns out, Blaine was allergic to his cake, so he got an Otter Pop instead. Blake enjoyed an Otter Pop, cake and two juice boxes. He crashed from his sugar rush when we got home. It's veggies for the rest of the week! One year ago today Blaine was born. Here are Jeff & Blaine, Patrick & Laurel and Chad & Blake at Swedish Hospital.
Fast forward one year!

Golfing with Lou

Blake really loves playing with his golf set....and Lou really loves the golf balls.
Chad thinks he is going to be a lefty.

Making off with the golf ball - do you like the guilty look on Lou's face :)

Awesome!

Blake is SO much fun these days. He is talking so much, it's fun to hear what he has to say. We were on the boat Saturday when I said something was "awesome" and he immediately mimicked me. Now he says it all the time.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a great Mother's Day weekend. Yesterday, I sat in a lawn chair most of the day while Chad tended to the yard and we went for a big hike. This morning I slept in and when I got up I had a great surprise waiting for me! Later, we went boating and then to dinner at my parents house. Overall I was very spoiled this weekend, I had lots of fun!
My Mother's Day surprise - champagne, roses, cinnamon rolls, strawberries and gifts! WOW! Thank you Chad and Blake, what a treat. After a couple of mimosas I was ready for some morning boating :)
Blake fell asleep in my arms about five minutes after we left the dock. I love holding him while he sleeps, not something I get to do much any more.

He still loves the new life vest.

Golf, hats....and heels?

Here are some funny pictures from the last few days. Blake is really into hats and his golf clubs these days. The evening I got home from Palm Desert I kicked off my shoes when I walked in the door. The next morning Blake thought they'd make good golf shoes.
The one blue sock is so fashionable.

Blake having some lunch with his new hat.

His other great passion right now is his life vest. Chad picked him up a new one that is less bulky that the other one we have. Blake loves it so much he requests to wear it. Here he is in his jammies "reading" the morning paper :)

Cousin!!

I am so happy I can finally announce that Blake is going to have a new cousin! Auntie Alison and Uncle Brian are expecting their first baby November 11th. Alison came over to our house a few weeks ago and told Blake she had a new word to teach him, "cousin". That is about the time I started screaming and jumping up and down :) Alison is feeling great and we can't wait to meet our new cousin/niece or nephew!!

A HUGE Thank You to my Mother-in-law!!!

I just returned from a much needed girls trip to Palm Desert! My Mother-in-law, Jean, came up to watch Blake so I could fly off to California for my best friend's bachlorette party. She even came up a day early so I could run errands before I left town! I know Blake had a great time, they played, had picnics, went to the Children's Museum and Toys R Us. On Saturday, Chad and Blake cleaned out the sandbox so we can refill it with fresh sand. Chad also did some yard work, vacuumed my car and pressure washed the patio. Maybe I should leave town more often?
