Memorial Day Weekend Boating

As soon as Blake can talk, I think he is going to say Daddy go faster!

Blake seemed to enjoy being on the boat today. He didn't fuss about his life jacket, swim outfit, sunscreen or hat! He was happy riding on Chad's lap for most of the trip, until the end when we had to get out some of his toys. He is getting ready for American Idol try outs in the last picture.

Who's walking Lou?

Chad and I were getting ready to take Blake and Louis on a walk, but Blake decided he should walk Lou, right after he makes a call. Holding Lou's leash is evidently really fun, especially when it is actually attached to the dog. Louis is not a big fan of this new activity.

Dinner with Auntie Alison

Alison came over for a bbq last night and she and Blake got to hang out together for a bit. She fed, bathed and entertained him for hours - thank you!

A visit with baby Blaine

Blake and "Uncle" Jeff
Erin and Blaine

Chad's best friend Jeff and his wife Erin had their son a week ago, so we went over for a little visit yesterday. Blaine slept just about the whole time, I remember those days!

In with the toys

We just put our house on the market so we've been trying to keep everything in tip top shape. So instead of taking all of his toys out, Blake decide to get in the chest with the toys - perfect!

Baby Blaine Has Arrived!

Here are the boys with their babes, pretty cute!
We are sure Blake and Blaine will be best buddies and I am sure they'll be fighting over who gets to date Laurel before we know it!
Heidi and I couldn't beleive how tiny Blaine was, seems like ages ago Blake and Laurel were that little.

Congratulations to Jeff and Erin on the arrival of baby Blaine, we are so happy he is finally here, happy and healthy!

The Great Escape

My little guy loves to be naked. When I try to get his diaper on after his bath he rolls away from me and crawls as fast has he can into the living room. It is quite a sight to see - here are a few pictures from this evening.

Such a big helper

Blake is into everything these days. This morning he thought he'd help with some laundry, which made him very happy. Someday when he is old enough for chores I'll remind him of how much he loves laundry.

My First Haircut

Blake got to have his hair cut in a little wooden car, very cute!
Wendy gave Blake some toys to keep him busy...
.. he wanted the whole bucket.
Please note the tear streaming down his cheek, that was only the beginning.
The hair looks great, the boy looks a little ticked!
.
.
Blake was born with a little hair, but it wasn't until he was about four months old that it really started to grow. At first it grew in looking like a little buzz cut and it just kept growing up and up. He had spiky hair for a long time, it was pretty cute. The girls in my mom's group named it "The Blake". But lately it's been looking pretty shaggy, so today we went to get it cut. It was a fun experience to start with, but quickly turned as Blake realized what was going on. He couldn't swat Wendy away, although he tried!

Food for thought, or thought for food?

Unfortunately Blake had pink eye and the start of an ear infection, so we laid low on Friday...Blake did some light reading.
I love this picture because my little love just recently decided to sleep through the night. Out of all of the children's books around him, he picked out my book on how to get your baby to sleep. Funny Blake, really funny!
Here he is reading the book (upside down) on how to sleep...getting some good tips?
And now, of course, eating the book.

Going, going, gone...

I may have mentioned this before, but Blake is a lightweight. He is in the 75th percentile for height and 15th for weight. I have to get this on video, but he keeps crawling out of his pants. I think he is actually happier pantless, it's much easier for crawling.

A few more pics of Blake's time with Grandma Jean

Little Gym with Grandma Jean

This is Blake with the love of his life, Teacher Lui. He is always smiling at her and he has even crawled away from me during our activity to go sit next to Lui.

Grandma Jean joined us at the little gym on Monday, it was so fun to have her with us.

Our first weekend away

Chad checking on the status of baby Oberst, we didn't want to miss his arrival!

Chad took me to San Francisco for my birthday. He planned a very swanky trip, we had a suite at the Fairmont complete with champagne and strawberries upon our arrival. Grandma Jean and Grandad Vern came up to take care of Blake, I think they all had a great time. It was my first overnight away from Blake and all went well. It was nice to have some time away, but I was ready to see my little guy when we got home!
