Blake is getting to be quite the grown up boy. Sometimes he really surprises me. The other day before leaving the house I asked him if he wanted a snack. He said yes and ran out of my room. I thought he took off for the play room, but when I went to check on him he'd gone to the kitchen and returned upstairs with his snack...three pieces of bread, his "sandwich". I guess I'm lucky he didn't try and put peanut butter on it himself. He told me all the crumbs in the pantry were from his cousin Georgia, who is 4 months old. Today I asked again if he wanted a snack and by the time I finished what I was doing upstairs, he had already gone to the kitchen, grabbed a hard boiled egg from the fridge, peeled it on a paper towel and chucked the center in the sink (something Blake and I both do :) I was surprised he got it all done by himself.
In other big boy news - Blake managed to hike FOUR miles on Sunday. We took off Sunday morning, Chad with an empty backpack, ready for when Blake got too tired. Blake had his Thomas the Train backpack, which he filled with rocks along the way (evidently hiking four miles just isn't enough for this 2.5 year old). He almost made it the whole way, just a few blocks from our house he decided to lay down on the path. He was still smiling and wanted nothing to do with the backpack, but Chad carried him the last little bit. All that hiking and still no nap! Who is this kid??

The color isn't great...these two will only stay this close for a few seconds, so I didn't have any time to make adjustments.

Riding on the end of the bed like a pony...this is what we were afraid of.
