What A Party!

We took Blake to a one year old birthday party for a little girl named Karis. Chad works with Karis' Dad, he is originally from Hawaii where your first birthday is the most important. This party was something else. They had a luau theme, a buffet of Hawaiian fare, face (or arm in Blake's case) painting, a bunny, balloon animals (Blake bit his and it popped), games and lots of goodies. We all had a great time!

After a little sugar Blake really got into the luau theme. He didn't want his lei at first, then he wanted all of them :)

Our Little Bruiser

Well, it's been almost 24 hours since our trip to the ER so I thought I'd post a picture of Blake's eye injury. He seemed to be fine today, the swelling has gone down quite a bit already. To me, the eyeball is the worst part, luckily I don't think Blake knows half his eyeball is bloody - gross!

First Trip to the ER

Last night I went to run some errands at 7:45 p.m. By 8:02 Chad called saying I needed to come home, Blake had gone face first into the door stopper on the back of the bonus room door. I ran home, we threw Blake in the car and went to the Overlake ER. His eye was completely swollen shut when we got there, but by the time the doctor saw us two hours later, it was open again. Today his eye is still swollen, the white of his eye is bloody (ick!) but he is in a pretty good mood so I don't think he is as traumatized as his mother :)

Officially Boating Season

We took Blake on his first boat ride when he was 3 weeks old. Last summer went well on the boat, but I wasn't sure how Blake would like the boat now that he is mobile and can tell us what he wants and more often, what he doesn't want. Today was great! No complaints about the life jacket and he fell asleep for the last 45 minutes or so.

Our Little Tiger

Saturday afternoon I needed a little "Leslie Time" so I sent Chad and Blake out to find some adventure on their own. They ended up at Toys R Us, Chad bought Blake a little golf set, which he completely loves.....and so does Louis. It's Sunday evening and I think we are already down one golf ball (thanks Lou). Blake in Chad's Master's hat, ready to hit the greens.

Happy Easter

Chad, Blake and I went to Portland to visit Chad's family for Easter. On Friday night Grandma and Grandad watched Blake so Chad and I could have a night out with some friends. On Saturday evening Uncle Todd, Aunt Lisa and cousins Gage and Jake came over for dinner and an Easter egg hunt. Blake had a lot of fun and ate a lot of sugar! Blake loved playing with his cousins and riding his new bike.

Riding the trike with Grandma.

Family photo (we had to pull Blake off the trike to get the picture).

Lunch with Daddy

Blake and I went and met Chad for lunch this week. It was so nice out, but pretty windy on Alki. Blake and Daddy

Little Cowboy

Blake loves Chad's cowboy hat. (Are you wondering why Chad has a cowboy hat? me too...)
We got a few pictures of him in the hat with his Johnny Cash t-shirt. Such a tough guy!

Such a Big Boy

Blake is growing up so fast. He has decided to call Chad and I "Mom" and "Dad", no mama or mommy - just Mom. Yesterday I guess he wanted to drink his milk like a grown up too. He slid his sippy cup inside a mug, very clever!
(I decided this one was a less breakable alternative.)

Update

Just a little update to let you all know Blake and I have been back to Old Navy and we paid for our stolen item....Grandpa Mike should sleep well tonight :)
