So Happy Together

I can't remember the last time we got to play with Georgia.  On Tuesday we finally got the kids together at the zoo.  It was fun to see them all so excited to see each other.

It made me happy to tears to see Georgia yesterday.  Someday we'll think of her running and giggling with the wind in her hair as normal and won't bat an eyelash.  But for now, I still get a little choked up seeing my niece so happy.

School Boy

We've had a pretty fun extended spring break. We had a great time in Montana, lots of family time at home, sunshine, all in all it was a good spring break. I went to check on Blake as I headed off to bed tonight. I found him sound asleep, fully dressed for school tomorrow. I guess he's ready to get back to business!

I checked, he's wearing khaki pants with his new plaid shirt :)

Sugar and Spice + a little more spice...

With Blake, I never experienced a day of the "terrible twos". If you asked Lauren, she'd tell you she's already two, knows what she wants to wear, what she wants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner ("treats") and who's in charge. It is really fun to see Lauren come into her own, but I can see I have my work cut out for me in the year (+) ahead!
Outfit by Lauren....waving to our second grade neighbor as he rides by on his bike (Lauren is also quite the flirt).

Tutus are also good for feeding Louie breakfast...

23 Months

Lauren,

You are so much fun. I love you more than words can say and you are the apple of your Daddy's eye. Your vocabulary grows each day and many times you have actions to go with your words, for example when you say "swim" you swim your arms through the air. I love it. You want to do everything your brother does, and so far he doesn't seem to mind too much. We got you up on skis (with some help down the hill from Mom & Dad) last week. The faster we went down the hill, the more you would say "weeeee". I love your enthusiasm. I tend to be a planner, when I set out to do something I usually think it over, chart a plan, etc. You, on the other hand seem to just go for it. You see something you like and you dive right it. I admire you greatly!

You have mastered the iPad, easily finding the apps and pictures you like. You can ride Blake's tractor with out running into the plants, something I've seen 4 year olds have trouble with. You have a love for animals, sweets, and the outdoors.

Happy last month as a one year old baby girl, you are my dream come true.

Love, Mom

Ski Vacation

We just returned from a week in Whitefish, we had the best time! Not only did Blake learn to ski, chairlift and all, but I got to ski too! It seems like years (five to be exact) since I really got to get out and ski. I managed to get a run or two in if I wasn't pregnant or nursing, but this year I felt the FREEDOM! We put Blake in lessons and Lauren in daycare at the ski lodge and the grown ups went skiing. I learned that getting two kids to the mountain with all of their necessary gear and into their classes is a lot of work, skiing was the easy part. I wasn't sore until the last day when we got Lauren up on skis. Taking a 23 month old down the bunny hill uses a lot of muscles! We celebrated Easter, made it to Glacier National Park for a little rock throwing at Lake MacDonald, we had lots of good food, lots of good wine, and the kids had LOTS of treats! Thanks for a great trip Grammy and Grandpa!
Lauren previewing her 2013 winter coat. I forgot Lauren's ski coat. Nice. If you follow my blog, you may remember this is the second time this year I have forgotten my daughter's coat for winter conditions, and for the second time running, I had mine. Mother of the year. Luckily, Chad flew over two days after us, so he could bring some appropriately sized clothing.

Blake had a private lesson the first day, one other kiddo in his class the second day and this was his crew on his third day out.

See, Lauren loved her mountain daycare. After 2.5 days in daycare, we decided Lauren should probably get out in the fresh air and try some skiing! (Lauren, you are the best! You happily waved goodbye and blew me kisses on my way out to ski - thank you! :)

I need to chat with my photographer, wouldn't it be great to see Lauren's skis?? :) She seemed to like "skiing", I snow plowed down the hill with her and the faster we went, she'd say "weeeee". That's my girl!

Till next time...

This might be one of those over the top, a little too long for most, videos that moms really love to post. When we left Blake on his first day of ski school he looked very serious and a little unsure. I looked at my step-mom and we both wondered how it was going to go. This video is from day TWO! I have to hand it to the Whitefish Ski School, Blake had a blast.

Lauren & Todd

Todd, Lisa, Gage and Jake came to visit this last weekend. Lauren could not get enough of her cousins, all we heard from her all weekend was "Gage"..."Jake". She also took a liking to her Uncle Todd.

Nice work Uncle Todd!

Baby in a bucket

I keep the kid's toys in a bucket next to the tub. Lauren thinks it makes a great little tub.
